Review

Ana is what they call a no soul. For thousands of years in Range, souls have been reincarnated over and over again. But when Ana was born, she did not have an old soul, she had a new soul. The soul they thought she be would be born with, disappeared. No clue to why either. Ana’s mother treat her terribly, believing that she is just a nosoul and doesn’t deserve any better. When Ana is old enough, she travels to the city of Heart, but everyone there is afraid of her.The city is being attacked by dragon and slyphs, and of course they blame her presence. Ana has met Sam, who believes that she is a new soul and is definitely worth something, unlike most everyone else. Ana has many enemies, both creatures and humans. Ana searches for what caused her to be born with a new soul, but as her quest continues, it threatens the peace and reincarnation of all of heart.Review:I was instantly drawn to the concept of reincarnation. This is a definitely a unique take on it too. The people do not always come back as the same gender. But have all the memories just the same. They all know each other, and their characteristics, and trades. The book is centered around the concept of living in a city where white walls that have a heartbeat, and was created by a god named Janan. It was a thrilling and completely engrossing world that they lived in. Ana is branded a no soul, and they don’t believe that she belongs. Ana is a very strong and determined young girl. She has taught herself to read, play music and do all the household chores. I commend her for that. With a abusive mother like that, you can’t help but to want her find happiness. All she wants to know is why she was born with a new soul. She knows that she will die and not come back, but yet she still continues on her quest for the truth. Ana meets Sam, and he is so patient with her. Their relationship is filled with lesson, and music. What she feels is real and it comes from her heart and Sam is amazing. The time he spends with her is sometimes intense and not always pleasant, but he sees her differently than everyone else. Their relationship grows as they spend more time together. He is great match for her. I really enjoyed the two of them. I don’t think I would want it any other way. There was no love at first sight, just a gradual build of caring and love for one another. It has twists, and mysteries that need to be solved. The romance is sweet and story kept me interested. I will most certainly read Asunder and continue the story. If you want something that sucks you right in, this is definitely the book for you.
