Review

I’m not real sure where to begin, but to say I absolutely loved this book. This is about aliens, but not just any aliens, gorgeous aliens in human bodies. The plot is exciting with the Luxens. The way this was written you feel like you are part of their world. It is both fascinating and addictive. We see how they ended up here and what powers each of them have. You just want to learn more about the Luxen, what other powers, and gifts they each have. Lets start with Katy. She is a book blogger, which is fantastic. There are even references to memes that we know and participate in. Her mother has packed her up and moved to West Virginia. Katy has been through a lot with her her Dads death and moving too. She is a very strong, and pretty independent. Katy is also very spunky and has a feisty side that just amazing. The way she is portrayed in this, just makes her seem more real. You can really connect with her. She has decided to go and meet her neighbors. Instantly she takes to Dee, who is just a genuinely likable girl. But Dee is nothing like her arrogant brother Daemon. At first you just want to hate him, but he is the bad-boy next door and super gorgeous. Katy is definitely in for a surprise when she finds out what they both are. She does handle it better that most would. Daemon is narcissistic, pushy and just mean to Katy sometimes, but then there is s different side to him too. He’s sweet, seductive and sometimes when he is with Katy you can feel the heat coming off the page. How can she not be attracted to him? He is trying to protect his sister Dee and his race. There is no point in this that I wanted to put it down. You are sucked in from the very beginning. I think I carried it everywhere with me till I was finished. It is a beautifully created world, with so many discoveries, twists and hot steaminess that it just leaves you wanting more. The suspenseful relationship between Kate and Daemon was simply amazing. I love Jennifer L. Armentrout’s writing style. There is so much detail, but not so much that you feel overwhelmed. I can’t wait to continue this series. This is a phenomenal book that just begs to be read. It is for sure my favorite summer read.
