Review

This start with a young girl named Sarah attending her Grandmother's funeral. She is staying with her mother and brother at the Amber House, which has been in there family for forever. She and Sam, her little brother are curious to see everything in the house. But Sarah wasn't expecting what she found. The Amber House has deep, and dark secrets. Sarah's mother wants to sell the house and Sarah just doesn't understand why. But she soon learns the truth. Sarah's mother hates the hose and everything with, and we soon find out just why she hates it so much. This is a very broken family that goes back generations. The secrets that uncovered are heart shattering, from betrayal, mental disabilities, deaths and unspeakable crimes.Sarah is great. She basically takes care of her brother, because her mother doesn't know how to handle him at all. He's only 5. He's as cute a button, you just help but to love him. Her relationship with her mother is not a very good one at all. Your heart just goes out to her. But her and her brother have a bond that is strong and very sweet. When she learns that she has visions of past events, she remains strong and determined to uncover the truth of just what has happened at the Amber House. She just wants to be a normal teenager, but is anything but. She care deeply for her family and would do anything for them. Sarah is down to earth kinda girl, she can be funny at times, but can feisty when she needs to be. She was really easy to connect with and I really enjoyed Sarah immensely.Sarah had met two very different guys, but is very drawn to them both. That's right a love triangle. Richard is really nice, cute and comes from a wealthy family and is the son of a senator. She finds herself in a world with large houses, beautiful things all around her. Then there's Jackson, he grew up on the outskirts of the property of the Amber House with his Grandmother. Who is spunky and takes no crap. Anyway, back to Jackson, he challenges her to look for some diamonds that people think are on the property somewhere. She really likes him, he's mysterious, but sweet and nice looking and he get along great with her little brother. They are both very different, but are likable guys. I made up my minds early in the book who I was rooting for.The whole premise of this book is fantastic. It is an eerie and haunting story of house that has echos of the past, with secrets that need to be uncovered. Sarah's vision are vividly described they leave you with goose bumps. The story flows very well keeping you very interested from start to finish. I will say the twist at the end, I did not see coming. But wow, was it a good jaw dropping one. This was a fabulous tale with ghost of the past. I honestly didn't want to put this down. I would definitely recommend this to read. I wish there was going to be more to the story, that's how much I enjoyed this, but for now it is just a stand alone book. I will definitely look forward to reading more of Kelly Moore's books.
