Review

This is was pretty good. 3.5 stars Full review to come soon. This is based on The Lost Colony on Roanoke Island, bringing us into the mystery again, but in the present. We learn of what happened when all the people went missing. The history was fascinating to me. We meet Miranda who finds herself slap dab in the middle of history repeating itself with people disappearing. Miranda is a protagonist, she’s an outcast at school, living with her drunk father. She see things other people don’t, and of course they find her strange. She is outspoken and very strong willed. Just my kinda girl, I really did like her. Then we have Phillip who also a protagonist, but he also the Sheriff’s son. He hears voices and has basically escaped the island and has been away at school. He seemed to have a great personality despite the problems he faced. He jumps right and tries to help Miranda. I liked both of them, over time So these two young people have to work together to find just what is going on.As the story goes on we learn about Miranda’s ancestors who lived on the island. Now Miranda has never been off the island and was told she could never leave. I wanted to know about why, and boy did I. There was a past connection between Miranda and Phillip, that helped them be able work together. The romance between was slightly there but nothing major. I was kept interested, with the twists and turns throughout. My only complaint was. I was a little disappointed by the secret behind the missing people. I was waiting for a dramatic secret to be told, but it still worked for the story. but With the mystery solved, the ending tied all the loose ends, was actually pretty good.Overall, this was a pretty good book, with mystery and suspense and a splash of romance. It was a fast read and interesting read. I would give it a try.
