Review

This was a WoW pick for me a few months ago, so I was really excited when I received this to review.Alyssa is the main character, and is a fairly independent and has a mind of her own. There is only one things that she is afraid of and that is ending up like her mother. Setting out to see if she can break the curse, she finds out that there is a lot more to the curse than she ever imagined.I think from the beginning I really liked Alyssa and Jeb. Alyssa rides a skateboard, has dread locks, is snarky and is nothing like the Alice like we all grew up knowing. I think she was freakin awesome. She loves her family and seems to be a really good friend to Jeb. But that isn’t all when it some to him. *Crush* Now, Jeb is the best friend, his is artistic, and so protective of Alyssa. Not to mention he’s has great looks going for him too. Their relationship was always like they were brother and sister, but along the way it grows into something more. The growth of Alyssa was realistic and she grows into a brave young girl that would sacrifice herself for the people she loves. And Jeb would too. There is a bit of a love triangle… I know, the dreaded triangle. There is Alyssa and Jeb that have grown up together and then there is Morpheus. Morpheus who lives in Wonderland and believes he is in love with Alyssa. I found Morpheus to mysterious, and at times seductive. And there times that I just wanted to root for him, but he did have a deviant side that makes you question his motives. He was an intriguing character to say the least. The world that Howard was imaginative, giving us a unique, dark and dangerous take on Wonderland. From the twisted portrayal of the caterpillar, and the rabbit to the Cheshire Cat, everything was completely different, and enthralling. Splintered was a frightening and mezmerizing spin on Alice In Wonderland. I would definitely recommend read this one.
