This book certainly has a lot things going on from the start. I took my time reading this so I didn't miss anything. To begin with Holly has suffered a tremendous loss and is now living with family in Seattle. She is thrown into a world of witches and warlocks. There is so many strange things going on that she so ready to go back home, but then she meets Jer and is instantly attracted him and feels a drawl to him as well. There a lot of history there between them that they begin to understand as time goes on. (Isabeau, Holly's ancestor and Jean, Jer's ancestor history) They have to change the course that both of their family have basically curse them with. This is a young girl who goes some pretty terrible events with her family and friends, all the while she is trying to protect Jer too. It almost like a forbidden romance which is hard for her family and friends to understand. There is a lot wiccan and warlock rituals and traditions that are described in detail. It was an interesting read and if you like to read about witches and warlocks and beliefs then you should find this to be a great book to read. I will continue to read the series to see what happens.
